Do you love soccer? Want to share that passion with kids ages 3–12? Join us as a volunteer coach in our YMCA soccer league! Coaches help players learn the fundamentals of the game, build good sportsmanship, and enjoy the fun of being part of a team. Season Dates: August 11 – October 4 Teams follow one of two formats: Saturday Teams (Teams 1–10): Practice for 30 minutes, followed by a 30-minute game—all on Saturday mornings. Weeknight + Saturday Teams (Teams 11–19): One 45-minute practice during the week, plus games on Saturdays. How to Register: 1. If you’ve already spoken with Nathan Siwicki, Sports Director: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select SOCCER COACH – TEAM #, then click the blue Volunteer button to register. 2. If you have not yet spoken with Y staff: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select SOCCER COACH – I’M INTERESTED IN COACHING! Click the blue Volunteer button to register. A staff member will reach out to schedule a time to talk through the role, background check, training, and league schedule. They’ll then help assign you to a team and get you started. Prerequisites: Please complete the following credentials prior to volunteering: Volunteer Relationship Agreement, Liability Waiver, Child Protection Policy, Child Abuse Prevention Training, Lindsay’s Law (Sudden Cardiac Arrest), Heads Up: Concussion Training, Background Check Commitment Type: seasonal, typically 8 weeks, 1-2 days per week Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Y—your time and energy help kids grow on and off the field!
