Welcome to The Wellness Experience Festival Volunteer Site! Thank you for your interest in becoming one of our volunteers at this year's Cincinnati festival August 20th and 21st. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles and activities prior to the festival, during and after. Take a look below at the shifts available and sign up today. You will receive an email on August 1st about your specific assignment and an invitation for the pre-festival volunteer orientation. All volunteers will be required to attend a brief orientation either online or in person in the weeks leading up to the event. Types of roles include greeters, stockers, traffic control, exhibitor assistants, stage hands, seat fillers and programming assistants. Volunteers will receive a 2-day TWE sampling pass and a 1-month YMCA guest pass. Other benefits include a volunteer festival shirt, festival swag and product samples (pending availability). Free parking will be available to all volunteers for the day of your shift. The Festival will take place outdoors in downtown Cincinnati along Second Street and Freedom Way. We ask volunteers to plan accordingly for the potentially hot temperatures in August. While volunteers will be given breaks throughout the shift, volunteers need to be in good health to be outdoors for up to 4 hours. We will be following all CDC mandated protocols to make sure volunteers and guest have the best and safest wellness experience possible.
The Kroger Co.
Thousands of people will be attending this outdoors event. One of the goals of The Wellness Experience is for everyone to have a fun, healthy, safe and successful time. Volunteers play a vital role in achieving this goal. The growth of the Wellness Experience Festival would not be possible without volunteers and we thank you for your participation. To help provide a safe and successful event, please review the following Volunteer Guidelines and Policies: 1) Volunteers will be given a uniform T-shirt, which must be worn along with khaki pants, shorts, or skorts during the time periods of volunteering at the Festival. This common feature identifies volunteer staff with the patrons and attendees of the Festival for easy assistance and guidance. If you are wearing your volunteer shirt on a break and your assistance is needed, you may be called into service. Volunteers are not permitted to wear costume makeup or costumes while on duty for the Festival (unless the role assigned calls for it). 2) Volunteers will comply with the CDC guidelines for creating a healthy and safe environment for all participants, volunteers and guests. Due the ever changing guidelines due the COVID-19 pandemic, the guidelines may change. Specific guidelines will be addressed during orientation in regards to the wearing of masks, social distancing and other mandated activities. As always, the safety of the participants, guests, patrons, and volunteers is the highest priority at The Wellness Experience. 3) Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older at the time of the Wellness Experience Festival (August 20th & 21st). 4) Volunteers must be available the entire shift. If your schedule has changed and you are not able to volunteer for your appointed shift, contact the volunteer staff team immediately. If you can make it for part of a shift, have to leave early or arrive late, inform the volunteer staff immediately. Many shifts and roles are designed to be covered for certain time frame. 5) Volunteers are NOT PERMITTED to ask for free or complimentary autographs or photographs by guests (unless the guest permits). Arrangements are made between the guests and organizers to receive a certain number of pieces to be distributed to those in attendance. 6) Volunteers are eligible for FREE parking during the 2021 The Wellness Experience Festival. Volunteer parking details will be distributed during orientation. 7) Unless the volunteer is on special detail, specific job assignments may not be released until your arrival on day of assignment. Volunteers need to be flexible in their assignments and staff organizers will strive to assign tasks to meet expressed preferences when possible. The overall success of the festival is the goal of the volunteer program. 8) By submitting an application, I agree that I am performing volunteer work for the Wellness Experience Festival, without any expectation or intention of receiving wages, compensation, or benefits from the Festival. I am donating my time and effort for the benefit of the Wellness Experience Festival because of my interest in supporting the Festival and its mission. My services are offered freely and without pressure or coercion, direct or implied from any member of the Wellness Experience Festival or the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. 9) By submitting an application, I agree that I understand that I am not an employee of the Wellness Experience Festival, any of the exhibitors, vendors, nor guests, and I have no expectation of an employment relationship, whether express or implied. I understand that I will not receive any wages, compensation, or benefits from the Wellness Experience Festival for my volunteer service. 10) By submitting an application, I agree that I understand that my volunteer service is not for a fixed period of time and that the Wellness Experience Festival may release me as a volunteer without prior notice and for any reason. 11) By submitting an application, on behalf of myself, my heirs, and my representatives, I agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Wellness Experience Festival, all of their subsidiary and affiliated companies, and all of their past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and assigns from any and all liability, damage, or claims of any nature that arise out of or are related to my volunteer service to the extent such liability, damage and claims may be released under the law.
