Clippard - Facility Volunteer

Clippard YMCA

Facility Volunteers assist our YMCA Facility Technicians and Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. We are looking for volunteers to help with the beautification and maintenance of our facility. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and Y needs which may include sprucing up the lobby and fitness centers, assisting with towel service, outside beautification activities such as landscaping maintenance and other simple light maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for those wanting to provide positive customer service while lending a helping hand. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements. HOW TO REGISTER: A. A member of the Volunteer Staff will reach out to you to schedule an interview to discuss the volunteer role, necessary background check and training. B. Volunteers will assist the Group EX instructors and trainers during their exercise classes. Volunteers may assist with welcoming the participants, staging equipment, as well as the sanitation and clean up of the exercise space. Volunteers will participate in the classes and may shadow the instructor as they lead the class. They may, if approved by the instructor, assist individual members and demonstrate positions or actions when needed. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Volunteers work alongside staff to provide a safe, nurturing environment which sparks children's imaginations and inspires fun and creative play while parents are striving to achieve their own goals in the fitness center. Volunteers read, play and spend time with children 8 years old and under while assisting our fantastic Y child care staff. HOW TO REGISTER: A. This opportunity is ONLY for Leading Men Fellows. Please create an account, and a member of the Y staff will reach out to discuss next steps. When volunteering in a childcare or a school setting, you will be required by the state of Ohio to complete the following through OCCRA.org: a background check, including BCI & FBI fingerprints, a medical form, and child protection and reporting training. Training and other requirements will be provided by the YMCA site. Once you have completed the onboarding and orientation process, you will set up a schedule with staff. Do you love Flag Football? Want to help kids, ages 5-12, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our summer Flag Football program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from July 7th through August 30th. All teams will practice for 45 minutes on Monday or Wednesday and then play their game on Saturday. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. If you received an invitation to coach and have spoken to Joey Allinder, Clippard Sports Director, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select FLAG FOOTBALL COACH - ASSIGNED BY Y STAFF and click the blue volunteer button to register. 2. Become a part of the Fastest Growing Sport in America! Combining elements of badminton, tennis and ping pong, pickleball is easy to learn and fun for all ages. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of this fun filled game with other members and friends. Here is your chance to help others learn the game, help organize matches and have fun with fitness! Volunteer hours are flexible and available 7 days a week. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Do you love soccer? Want to help kids, ages 3-12, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our spring soccer program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of soccer, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from August 11th through October 11th. There are two different types of teams to coach: Teams 1-6 will practice and play on Saturdays. They will practice for 30 minutes and then play their game for 30 minutes that same day. Teams 7-20 will play TWO times a week: They will practice for 45 minutes on a weeknight and play their games on a Saturday. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. Special Events are offered throughout the year at the Clippard Y and volunteers are what make them special! We are recruiting members and friends to be a part of a dynamic team that will turn ideas into something amazing! When a volunteer opportunity arises, an email will be sent to all who are interested. Opportunities will vary and if you see one that interests you, you will just need to email back and let the Y staff know. A special event volunteer may commit to helping as much or as little as you are able. Some events may include:  Fall Festival - games and activities for all ages  Holiday Celebrations - Valentine's Day, Trunk or Treats, 4th of July Celebrations...  Parent's Night Out and other fun events for kids and families  Beautification Projects around the Y (landscaping, painting and clean up projects)  Lunch & Learn Programs for Seniors  Summer Pool Parties for Everyone  and so much more... Volunteers will assist the Swim Instructors during their classes. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sharing their passion for aquatics. Seeking volunteers to help with safety around the water by providing an extra sets of arms and eyes in the pool as little ones learn the basics of how to swim. Volunteers also help set up and clean up equipment/pool deck as needed. Volunteers are fully trained and supervised by Swim Instructors at all times and provide assistance as needed. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of swimming with other members and friends. This position is perfect if you like kids, love the water and want to help others reach their goals of physical fitness. Volunteer hours are flexible and available 5 days a week. HOW TO REGISTER: A. We do that in a lot of ways and the Volunteer Chaplains do this by providing a safe and welcoming space, listening to people, and providing spiritual guidance and prayer while demonstrating God's love and values as a servant leader to the YMCA community.
