Clippard YMCA
Elves (Volunteers) are needed to assist with A Night with Santa on Thursday, December 11th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers will spread holiday cheer, help members and neighbors at the coloring station, help with the animals, serve snacks and drinks, as well as help with other activities for the community. No experience is necessary, just a holiday spirit and willingness to help others. Volunteers are needed at 5:30pm before the event, and will end at 8pm. Do you love basketball? Want to help kids, ages 3-9, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our winter basketball program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of basketball, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from October 13th-December 6th. Age Groups 3-6 will practice and play during the week; Age Group 7-9 will practice during the week and play on Saturdays. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. If you received an invitation to coach and have spoken to Joey Allinder, Sports Director, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select BASKETBALL COACH - TEAM # (whichever team you are assigned) and click the blue volunteer button to register. 2. If you have not spoken to a Y Staff member: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button with BASKETBALL COACH- I'M INTERESTED IN COACHING! Join us on Thursday, October 23 from 6 pm - 7:30 pm for our Trunk or Treat Boo Fest Event! Community members and local businesses are invited to head to the Clippard Y, decorate their cars, bring candy, and get ready to pass out lots of treats as lots of neighborhood costumed children parade by. Volunteers are crucial to making this event a smashing time for our community. We are also looking for event volunteers to help with set up, passing out goodies, and helping with games and activities. Event volunteers should arrive at 5pm to help with set up. Trunk or Treat Car Hosts should arrive at 5:30. TO REGISTER YOUR TRUNK AND TO LET US KNOW YOU WILL PARTICIPATE: Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the blue volunteer button next to Trunk or Treat Car Host! Each car needs to have ONE PERSON registered for the event. You will be given the opportunity to create an account as a volunteer for the evening. In partnership with the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency, Clippard YMCA will be hosting a Disaster Preparedness Drill on Wednesday, November 5. Volunteers are needed 8:30am - 12pm. The volunteer will help with the set up, clean up, and operation of the drill. They will specifically help with: Unloading and unpacking supplies (and re-packing and re-loading at the end of the drill) Setting up tables and chairs in locations for reception/registration, dormitory, feeding, and potentially other service areas Assembling and locating cots where directed Posting signs for clients (shelter rules, schedule, directions to locations and services) HOW TO REGISTER: Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button next to your volunteer opportunity. Facility Volunteers assist our YMCA Facility Technicians and Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. We are looking for volunteers to help with the beautification and maintenance of our facility. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and Y needs which may include sprucing up the lobby and fitness centers, assisting with towel service, outside beautification activities such as landscaping maintenance and other simple light maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for those wanting to provide positive customer service while lending a helping hand. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Group Exercise Volunteers and Class Champions support YMCA instructors in making classes welcoming, energetic, and engaging for all participants. Volunteers assist with greeting and connecting with members, especially those new to class, as well as helping stage or set up equipment, supporting anyone arriving late, and maintaining a clean and safe exercise space. With instructor approval, volunteers may also demonstrate movements, lead routines, or offer one-on-one encouragement during class. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys fitness, motivating others, and creating a sense of belonging. Volunteers are fully supervised by YMCA staff. When volunteering in a childcare or a school setting, you will be required by the state of Ohio to complete the following through OCCRA.org: a background check, including BCI & FBI fingerprints, a medical form, and child protection and reporting training. Training and other requirements will be provided by the YMCA site. Once you have completed the onboarding and orientation process, you will set up a schedule with staff. On Sunday, October 12 from 12pm - 3pm the Clippard YMCA will be hosting a special invite only event for families with children with Rett Syndrome for a family fun day in our indoor waterpark. The event will include a gift bag for families, food during the event time, and a sensory-friendly swimming experience at our indoor waterpark (with features off). Volunteers are welcome to help us make this a special experience for families by helping greet, wayfind throughout the branch, help with crafts or food, etc. Volunteer Needs: Full Day Event Volunteer: 11am - 3:30pm, helping with setup, event help, event clean up First Shift: 11am - 1pm, help with set up and event Second Shift: 1pm - 3:30pm, event help, clean up TO REGISTER: Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button. Do you love soccer? Want to help kids, ages 3-12, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our spring soccer program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of soccer, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from August 11th through October 11th. There are two different types of teams to coach: Teams 1-6 will practice and play on Saturdays. They will practice for 30 minutes and then play their game for 30 minutes that same day. Teams 7-20 will play TWO times a week: They will practice for 45 minutes on a weeknight and play their games on a Saturday. HOW TO REGISTER: 1.
