Clippard YMCA

Help us spread holiday cheer to local seniors this season! Volunteers will assist with collecting, organizing, and checking in gifts for our Adopt a Senior program. Santa’s Helpers will make sure every gift is accounted for, matched with the correct recipient, and beautifully packaged in a gift bag with its tag attached. Volunteers may also assist Y staff with loading gifts for delivery. Specific volunteer shifts - such as wrapping parties or gift organization days - will be listed below as they are scheduled. Clippard YMCA

Do you love basketball? Want to help kids, ages 3-9, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our winter basketball program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of basketball, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from October 13th-December 6th. Age Groups 3-6 will practice and play during the week; Age Group 7-9 will practice during the week and play on Saturdays. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. If you received an invitation to coach and have spoken to Joey Allinder, Sports Director, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select BASKETBALL COACH - TEAM # (whichever team you are assigned) and click the blue volunteer button to register. 2. If you have not spoken to a Y Staff member: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button with BASKETBALL COACH- I'M INTERESTED IN COACHING! Do you love basketball? Want to help kids, ages 3-8, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our winter basketball program. Overview: As part of the YMCA’s commitment to youth development and social responsibility, the Clippard YMCA is proud to partner with Project LIFE at Aiken High School. This volunteer opportunity is designed for high school students with disabilities to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience in a supportive and inclusive environment. Volunteers will assist our facility team in daily operations that ensure our building is safe, welcoming, and clean for all members of our community. Key Responsibilities: Support basic facility cleaning and maintenance tasks (e.g., wiping equipment, restocking supplies, sweeping, organizing spaces). Assist with indoor and outdoor upkeep such as gym, wellness center, lobby, and grounds. Help set up and break down for events or classes. Collaborate with staff and other volunteers to maintain a safe and accessible environment. Participate in job-readiness and soft-skill development opportunities as coordinated with Project LIFE instructors. Represent the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility at all times. Supervision: Volunteers will be directly supported by Clippard YMCA’s facility staff and the Project LIFE coordinator from Aiken High School. Ideal Qualities: Willingness to learn and try new tasks. Ability to follow directions and work independently or with a buddy. Positive attitude and commitment to helping others. Interest in building vocational skills in a professional setting. Group Exercise Volunteers and Class Champions support YMCA instructors in making classes welcoming, energetic, and engaging for all participants. Volunteers assist with greeting and connecting with members, especially those new to class, as well as helping stage or set up equipment, supporting anyone arriving late, and maintaining a clean and safe exercise space. With instructor approval, volunteers may also demonstrate movements, lead routines, or offer one-on-one encouragement during class. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys fitness, motivating others, and creating a sense of belonging. Volunteers are fully supervised by YMCA staff.
