Clippard YMCA
Facility Volunteers assist our YMCA Facility Technicians and Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. We are looking for volunteers to help with the beautification and maintenance of our facility. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and Y needs which may include sprucing up the lobby and fitness centers, assisting with towel service, outside beautification activities such as landscaping maintenance and other simple light maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for those wanting to provide positive customer service while lending a helping hand. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements. HOW TO REGISTER: A. First, Schedule an INTERVIEW: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button next to Facility Volunteer - I'm Interested in Volunteering! A member of the Volunteer Staff will reach out to you to schedule an interview to discuss the volunteer role, necessary background check and training. B. Then, you will be scheduled a Position AFTER your interview: Once your interview is complete and you are assigned the position, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION - Facility Volunteer- Assigned and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button. Throughout the year, and especially during the Annual Campaign, we rely on our volunteers to be ambassadors and champions of our mission. Volunteers will assist the Group EX instructors and trainers during their exercise classes. Volunteers may assist with welcoming the participants, staging equipment, as well as the sanitation and clean up of the exercise space. Volunteers will participate in the classes and may shadow the instructor as they lead the class. They may, if approved by the instructor, assist individual members and demonstrate positions or actions when needed. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Volunteers work alongside staff to provide a safe, nurturing environment which sparks children's imaginations and inspires fun and creative play while parents are striving to achieve their own goals in the fitness center. Volunteers read, play and spend time with children 8 years old and under while assisting our fantastic Y child care staff. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Become a part of the Fastest Growing Sport in America! Combining elements of badminton, tennis and ping pong, pickleball is easy to learn and fun for all ages. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of this fun filled game with other members and friends. Here is your chance to help others learn the game, help organize matches and have fun with fitness! Volunteer hours are flexible and available 7 days a week. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Special Events are offered throughout the year at the Clippard Y and volunteers are what make them special! We are recruiting members and friends to be a part of a dynamic team that will turn ideas into something amazing! When a volunteer opportunity arises, an email will be sent to all who are interested. Opportunities will vary and if you see one that interests you, you will just need to email back and let the Y staff know. A special event volunteer may commit to helping as much or as little as you are able. Some events may include: Fall Festival - games and activities for all ages Holiday Celebrations - Valentine's Day, Trunk or Treats, 4th of July Celebrations... Parent's Night Out and other fun events for kids and families Beautification Projects around the Y (landscaping, painting and clean up projects) Lunch & Learn Programs for Seniors Summer Pool Parties for Everyone and so much more... Volunteers will assist the Swim Instructors during their classes. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sharing their passion for aquatics. Seeking volunteers to help with safety around the water by providing an extra sets of arms and eyes in the pool as little ones learn the basics of how to swim. Volunteers also help set up and clean up equipment/pool deck as needed. Volunteers are fully trained and supervised by Swim Instructors at all times and provide assistance as needed. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of swimming with other members and friends. This position is perfect if you like kids, love the water and want to help others reach their goals of physical fitness. Volunteer hours are flexible and available 5 days a week. HOW TO REGISTER: A. In partnership with a local faith community, volunteer chaplains will help the YMCA live out our mission – to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We do that in a lot of ways and the Volunteer Chaplains do this by providing a safe and welcoming space, listening to people, and providing spiritual guidance and prayer while demonstrating God's love and values as a servant leader to the YMCA community. Welcome Center volunteers will have the opportunity to assist members with checking in as they enter and providing basic information. A Y Small Group Leader helps to enhance the Y's mission, fosters relationships, promotes belonging, and provides a space for members to feel spiritual/personal achievement. Volunteers have the opportunity to enhance their own knowledge and use and develop their own leadership skills and passions. Y Groups are created based on common interests and passions and the leader helps to coordinate meetings/activities and provides general ongoing support to the group. If you like to help others make meaningful connections this might be a great volunteer opportunity for you!
