On Monday, October 27th, join the ME Lyons Y in bringing joy to the local senior center, The Ashford of Mt. Washington, from 1pm - 3pm. Join our group of amazing volunteers to dance, play games, craft and have fun with seniors at the Ashford. Meet us at the following nursing homes for a light hearted and fun time! Join us for a fun-filled evening on Thursday, December 11th, as we welcome Santa to the M.E. Lyons YMCA. Bring your letters to give Santa and enjoy cookies and hot cocoa, crafts, pictures and all sort of family fun! This event is FREE for the whole family and open to the community! 🎃 Friday, October 24th Event: 5:30pm - 8pm M.E. Lyons YMCA Get ready to spook and groove at the Halloween Dance hosted by ME Lyons on Friday, October 25th! We are calling all volunteers to join us in adding some boo-tiful touches to the event. Your help is needed for setting up spooky decorations, serving chilling refreshments, and ensuring the eerie-fun activities run smoothly during the dance. Volunteer Tasks: Set Up: 4pm - 6pm Event Volunteer: 5:30pm - 8pm Food Service: 5:30pm - 8pm DJ: 5:30pm - 8pm Photo Booth: 5:30pm - 8pm Registration: 5:30pm - 7pm Clean Up: 7pm - 8:30pm TO REGISTER: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the blue Volunteer button next to the volunteer activity that interests you. Do you think you have the best chili or soup? It's time for our annual cookoff to see who has the best chili/soup, most unique and overall people's choice award. Sign up to bring a pot and come join for some fellowship with your Y family and enjoy a yummy meal together. Join us on Wednesday, October 15th, from 11am - 1:30pm to be in community and eat some good chili! Join us on Sunday, October 19th for our Floating Pumpkin Patch Family Boo Fest Event! We will be throwing 400 pumpkins in the pool for a floating pumpkin patch and then decorating! Don't forget your costume and enjoying trunk trick or treating, photo booth, crafts, games and lots of fun! The event runs from 3 pm to 5 pm. Volunteers are needed to make this a haunting success! Check out some of the fun & games that will take place, pick a volunteer role, and sign up today! You don't want to miss this faBOOlous time! Volunteer Shifts: 1:30pm - 3pm: event set up 2:30pm - 5pm: event help (pumpkin patch, games, trunk or treating) 4pm - 6pm: event clean up Whether you can lend a hand with pumpkin decorating, the trunk or treat, or help with set up and clean up, your support would be greatly appreciated. Volunteers work alongside staff to provide children a safe, nurturing, and fun environment while parents enjoy a well-deserved night out. Volunteers read, play games, do crafts, watch a movie, and spend time with children 12 years old and under while assisting our fantastic Y childcare staff. Parents' Night Out will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m.; volunteers will receive training and assignments at 5:30 pm. It's a great way to spend a Friday night! Bring the energy on Fridays at the Y - show your team spirit, hand out popcorn, and help guests learn about volunteer opportunities! Volunteers will staff a welcome table, greet members, distribute snacks, share quick info about ways to get involved, collect interest cards, and support simple set up and clean up. Wear your favorite team gear, bring your best smile, and help create a fun game day vibe that sparks conversations and connections. Volunteers are needed to help with set up from 9:30am - 11am, serving from 11:30am - 1pm, or clean up from 1pm - 2pm. This will be a wonderful day full of gratitude, relationships, and belonging.
