Throughout the year, and especially during the Annual Campaign, we rely on our volunteers to be ambassadors and champions of our mission. This is achieved through sharing our stories, communicating our impact, connecting people to our cause and providing them the opportunity to give back to their community by volunteering and donating. There are so many ways volunteers may assist in these efforts. Consider being a virtual fundraiser, make phone calls, or simply help share our stories of impact! Would you like to make a positive impact in the life of a child? Volunteers are needed at Batavia Early Learning Center to help staff with the children, setting up activities, and serving meals. Volunteer opportunities include: - Baby Cuddler: hold and cradle babies who need a little extra human touch when upset or crying - Classroom Champion: support staff with naptime, play time, set up games and crafts - Lunch Aide: help plate and serve meals **** These positions are available. You will be assigned a position by staff after an interview. A member of the Child Development Services Staff will reach out to you to schedule an interview to discuss the volunteer role, necessary background checks and training. All of our opportunities are still open for volunteers, pending an interview with staff. When volunteering in a childcare or a school setting, you will be required by the state of Ohio to complete the following through OCCRRA: a background check, including BCI & FBI fingerprints, a medical form, and child protection and reporting training. Training and other requirements will be provided by the YMCA site. Once you have completed the interview process, you will set up a schedule with staff. The Black and Latino Achievers program is an immersive college and career readiness initiative that empowers students to explore their identity, strive for academic excellence, grow in character, build cultural awareness, and give back through meaningful community service—all through dynamic, hands-on cluster workshops. Our volunteers, guest speakers, and partners are the heart of Y Achievers. By sharing their knowledge and experiences while leading workshops and activities, volunteers create a vital bridge between the corporate world, higher learning, and the local community that help our students prepare for their future! 📣 Want to Get Involved? The Y’s Youth & Government program empowers high school students to explore how government works and how they can be a part of the change. Through interactive experiences and real-world connections, students gain leadership skills, public speaking confidence, and a deeper understanding of civic responsibility. They’ll also have opportunities to network with policymakers and connect with professionals making a real impact in their communities, inspiring them to become the next generation of public servants, changemakers, and engaged citizens. 🎯 We’re looking for volunteers who can: - Serve as Adult Mentors to inspire and guide youth - Bring energy, creativity, and leadership to workshops and events - Help students turn ideas into action - Encourage meaningful connections with community leaders Whether you're a civic leader, educator, or a parent, college student or one who believes in youth potential—this is your chance to spark the next generation of change-makers!
