The Achievers program is an immersive college and career readiness initiative that empowers students to explore their identity, strive for academic excellence, grow in character, build cultural awareness, and give back through meaningful community service—all through dynamic, hands-on cluster workshops. Our volunteers, guest speakers, and partners are the heart of Y Achievers. By sharing their knowledge and experiences while leading workshops and activities, volunteers create a vital bridge between the corporate world, higher learning, and the local community that help our students prepare for their future! 📣 Want to Get Involved? Calling All Volunteers – Support the Achievers! Make an impact by supporting the next generation of leaders. We're seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with the Achievers program. Possible activities include: 🍕 Help us feed students at our Saturday gathering! We’ll provide the food — you get to share it and connect with the students. 🎉 Be a source of encouragement and guidance. Serve as a chaperone and mentor while supporting students as they participate in a meaningful community service project. Whether you can give a few hours or commit to ongoing involvement, your time makes a difference. Join us in empowering our Achievers and building a stronger community. Throughout the year, and especially during the Annual Campaign, we rely on our volunteers to be ambassadors and champions of our mission. This is achieved through sharing our stories, communicating our impact, connecting people to our cause and providing them the opportunity to give back to their community by volunteering and donating. There are so many ways volunteers may assist in these efforts. Consider being a virtual fundraiser, make phone calls, or simply help share our stories of impact! Would you like to make a positive impact in the life of a child? Volunteers are needed at Batavia Early Learning Center to help staff with the children, setting up activities, and serving meals. Volunteer opportunities include: - Baby Cuddler: hold and cradle babies who need a little extra human touch when upset or crying - Classroom Champion: support staff with naptime, play time, set up games and crafts - Lunch Aide: help plate and serve meals **** These positions are available. You will be assigned a position by staff after an interview. All of our opportunities are still open for volunteers, pending an interview with staff. When volunteering in a childcare or a school setting, you will be required by the state of Ohio to complete the following through OCCRRA: a background check, including BCI & FBI fingerprints, a medical form, and child protection and reporting training. Training and other requirements will be provided by the YMCA site. Once you have completed the interview process, you will set up a schedule with staff. Campaign Volunteers help strengthen the Y’s Annual Campaign and connect more people to the programs and opportunities it makes possible. There’s more than one way to get involved. Whether you enjoy connecting with people, showing appreciation, sharing the impact of the Y, or helping spread the word, you choose the role that feels right for you. What Campaign Volunteers Do: - Thank donors. Call or write to people who have already given. No ask—just gratitude. It’s a simple and meaningful way to get started. - Share the impact. Help others understand what their support makes possible by sharing stories and examples from your Y community. - Spread the word. Share campaign posts, forward an email, or talk about the campaign with people in your community. - Make calls. If you enjoy connecting with people, we’ll provide names, guidance, and support to help you get started. - Make the ask—if you want to. Asking for donations is just one way to help, and it’s completely your choice. You choose how you want to help. You’ll never be assigned a fundraising role you aren’t comfortable with. We’ll Support You Along the Way You won’t be handed a script and expected to figure it out on your own. Every volunteer receives the Campaigner Playbook and training, and Y staff will be there to provide guidance, resources, and support throughout the campaign. Ready to Get Started?
