Be part of the Y Hunger Heroes! Grab your gym shoes and a bottle of water, and go for a walk or run with us to raise money for food insecurity in our community! Did you know that last year, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati fed more than 7,000 neighbors in need? With your help, we can do more. The YMCA Hunger Heroes will participate in the 16th Annual Hunger Walk & 5K Run on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th. You can support the Y’s efforts by participating or donating to the Y Hunger Heroes team. All dollars raised through registration or donation will go directly to the Y’s efforts to address food insecurity in our community. So that the Y knows who is volunteering or donating on our behalf, please follow this TWO-STEP registration process! STEP 1: REGISTER WITH THE YMCA IF YOU ARE WALKING OR RUNNING: Scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the Volunteer Button. The system will walk you through registering and creating an account at the Y. If you are donating, go directly to http://www.cincinnatihungerwalk.org/ to donate. STEP 2: REGISTER AND PAY WITH THE FREESTORE FOODBANK: Visit the 2025 Hunger Walk & 5K Run Campaign website: http://www.cincinnatihungerwalk.org/ to register or donate. To register to walk or run: Click “Register” then “Join a Team.” Search Fundraising Team and select YMCA Hunger Heroes #4704. The registration fee is $30, which supports the YMCA Hunger Heroes, or $45 if you would like a t-shirt. Fill out personal information. When asked which FUNDRAISING TEAM to support, choose YMCA HUNGER HEROES #4704 from the dropdown menu. This is necessary for the donation to be allocated to the Y Marketplace! If you want to add a donation, you may. If you don’t want to add a donation, scroll down and hit “skip donation.” Hit checkout and complete your registration. To donate only: Click “Donate Now.” Select the amount you want to donate. When you are asked, “Would you like to credit this donation to a specific fundraising team,” please type “YMCA Hunger Heroes. #4704” Fill out your contact information. Thank you for supporting the YMCA initiatives to end hunger in our community! Together, we can make an impact! See you at the Hunger Walk 5k! Race Details: Check-in starts at 7:00 a.m. at Schmidlapp Lawn (located on the Banks downtown); the race begins at 9:00 a.m. The starting line is on Mehring Way. The post-race party is on Schmidlapp Lawn.
