Gamble-Nippert YMCA

Are you ready to lend a hand to make Gamble-Nippert YMCA a better place? We are always in need of help with small projects from painting, to taking out recycling, to minor repairs. Facility volunteers strive to make the Y a welcoming environment as they assist with light cleaning, simple landscaping projects and other beautification projects all year round. We would welcome new people with skills and/or the desire to help refresh and renew our Y so that all people feel welcome in our place. HOW TO REGISTER: Scroll down to the HOLD A POSITION - Facility Volunteer - I'm Interested! Click the blue Volunteer button to register. Volunteers will be asked to create an online account and will be given directions to complete a background check if appropriate (18 and over). Once the registration process is complete, a Y Staff will add you the the Facility Volunteer- Assigned project and will work with you to create a schedule and set a time for orientation and training. Are you excited about welcoming people to the YMCA and ready to encourage them on their fitness journey? We are looking for volunteers to assist in our Fitness Center. Fitness Center Attendants will have the opportunity to welcome members to the facility, help with questions, and maintain the upkeep of the area (wipe down machines, refill supplies, etc.). This position is perfect if you have an encouraging personality and an eye for details. Volunteer hours are flexible and available 7 days a week. HOW TO REGISTER: A. There are so many ways volunteers may assist in these efforts. Consider being a virtual fundraiser, make phone calls, or simply help share our stories of impact! Gamble-Nippert YMCA

Girls on the Run inspires individuals of all abilities to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion. Fall 2025 Details: The fall 2025 season will be held Sept. 8 - Nov. 15, with our celebratory 5K on 11/15. Our planning process is roughly divided into three sections: Fall 2025 Site application opens 3/24/25 - for schools, community centers, churches, and parks planning to host a team. Coach application opens 6/2/25 – this link will be sent via email to anyone who is listed as a coach on the site application. Coach trainings – once a coach application has been submitted, online training can be completed in June and July with in-person sessions in August. Volunteers work alongside staff to provide children a safe, nurturing, and fun environment while parents enjoy a well-deserved night out. Volunteers read, play games, do crafts, watch a movie, and spend time with children 12 years old and under while assisting our fantastic Y childcare staff. Parents' Night Out will be from 5:30 to 9 pm; volunteers will receive training and assignments at 5 pm. It's a great way to spend a Saturday night! Become a part of the Fastest Growing Sport in America! Combining elements of badminton, tennis and ping pong, pickleball is easy to learn and fun for all ages. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of this fun filled game with other members and friends. Here is your chance to help others learn the game, help organize matches and have fun with fitness! Volunteer hours are flexible and available 7 days a week. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Do you love soccer? Want to help kids, ages 3 -10, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our spring soccer program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of soccer, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from April 7th through June 1st. All Ages 3-10 will have a 30-minute team practice followed by a 30-minute game in the gymnasium one weekday night. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. If you received an invitation to coach and have spoken to Nick Hoyt, Director of Small Groups, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select SOCCER COACH - for your age group and click the blue volunteer button to register. 2. If you have not spoken to a Y Staff member: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button with SOCCER COACH- I'M INTERESTED IN COACHING! The Cincinnati YMCA Synchrogators is a premier synchronized swimming program featuring swimmers from all over the tristate area. Volunteers assist the team in a variety of capacities at meets, practices or with special projects. Beginning this fall 2022, we will use this system, VolunteerMatters, to register for ALL volunteer activities instead of Sign Up Genius. ANYONE who plans to volunteer at the YMCA must create a volunteer account in VolunteerMatters. By creating this account, all volunteers are able to complete the Y's Volunteer Relationship Agreement & Waiver of Liability and acknowledge the Child Protection Policy & Child Abuse Reporting Procedures. Thank you in advance for helping the Y to create a safe and welcoming environment for swimmers, volunteers, and staff. Unlike Sign Up Genius, volunteers must make INDIVIDUAL accounts with unique emails addresses in VolunteerMatters. Westwood Second Saturdays is a volunteer-run monthly street party in the heart of the Westwood Historic Business District. These themed street parties include craft beer, music, entertainment, and activities for all ages! Join the YMCA booth to help create crafts and lead kids through some fun games! Volunteers are needed from 4:30pm - 10pm to help with set up, crafts and games, and clean up. Y Gardening Volunteers assist our YMCA Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place for members and our neighbors. We are looking for volunteers to help with the Y Garden located on the YMCA grounds. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and the garden needs which may include planning, planting, weeding, watering and other light general maintenance. This role is ideal for those wanting to spend time outside, loving the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and putting their green thumbs to work. It's also a great project to learn about and broaden gardening skills and knowledge. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements.
