Gamble-Nippert YMCA
Do you love Flag Football? Want to help kids, ages 5-12, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our Fall Flag Football program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from October 13th through December 5th. All teams will practice for 45 minutes on Wednesday or Thursday and then play their game on Saturday. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. If you received an invitation to coach and have spoken to Joey Allinder, Clippard Sports Director, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select FLAG FOOTBALL COACH - ASSIGNED BY Y STAFF and click the blue volunteer button to register. 2. If you have not spoken to a Y Staff member: Scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and click on the blue VOLUNTEER button with FLAG FOOTBALL COACH- I'M INTERESTED IN COACHING! A member of the Volunteer Staff will reach out to you to schedule a time to discuss the volunteer role, necessary background check, training and logistics of the league. Help us spread holiday cheer to local seniors this season! Volunteers will assist with collecting, organizing, and checking in gifts for our Adopt a Senior program. Santa’s Helpers will make sure every gift is accounted for, matched with the correct recipient, and beautifully packaged in a gift bag with its tag attached. Volunteers may also assist Y staff with loading gifts for delivery. Specific volunteer shifts - such as wrapping parties or gift organization days - will be listed below as they are scheduled. Those who choose to donate a gift for a senior will receive one volunteer credit hour in appreciation of their time, care, and effort in purchasing and delivering their gift. All donation and event volunteers must complete their registration and paperwork in Volunteer Matters before participating. HOW TO REGISTER: Scroll to the bottom of the page. 🎃 Gamble-Nippert YMCA Trunk-or-Treat Night Thursday, October 29th | 6:00pm - 8:00pm Join us for a spook-tacular evening of fall fun! Volunteers will help create a safe and festive environment for families to enjoy our annual Trunk-or-Treat celebration. Activities include: Trunk-or-Treat Car Host: Decorate car trunks and pass out candy to excited trick-or-treaters. Best decorated trunk - wins 1 Free Month Membership! Pumpkin Decorating: Support kids as they decorate pumpkins (no carving – just stickers, and creativity!). Field Game Zone: Help run Mummy Races, Spoon Relays, Ring Toss, Jenga, and more. Volunteers will assist with set-up, running activities, and clean-up. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with families, celebrate Halloween, and bring smiles to our community! Volunteers assist our YMCA Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. CPS Workforce Academy will participate in a variety of volunteer projects. They will work with our Welcome Center staff to welcome members and guests, with the Kids' Club crew to help provide child care enrichment while their parents are working out, and with our Facility staff to help make this Y a clean and safe place for all visitors. This position is a partnership with Cincinnati Public School. It is by invitation only. HOW TO REGISTER: Scroll down to the HOLD A POSITION -CPS Workforce Academy Volunteer. Are you ready to lend a hand to make Gamble-Nippert YMCA a better place? We are always in need of help with small projects from painting, to taking out recycling, to minor repairs. Facility volunteers strive to make the Y a welcoming environment as they assist with light cleaning, simple landscaping projects and other beautification projects all year round. We would welcome new people with skills and/or the desire to help refresh and renew our Y so that all people feel welcome in our place. Campaign Volunteers help strengthen the Y’s Annual Campaign and connect more people to the programs and opportunities it makes possible. There’s more than one way to get involved. Whether you enjoy connecting with people, showing appreciation, sharing the impact of the Y, or helping spread the word, you choose the role that feels right for you. What Campaign Volunteers Do: - Thank donors. Call or write to people who have already given. No ask—just gratitude. It’s a simple and meaningful way to get started. - Share the impact. Help others understand what their support makes possible by sharing stories and examples from your Y community. - Spread the word. Share campaign posts, forward an email, or talk about the campaign with people in your community. - Make calls. If you enjoy connecting with people, we’ll provide names, guidance, and support to help you get started. - Make the ask—if you want to. Asking for donations is just one way to help, and it’s completely your choice. You choose how you want to help. You’ll never be assigned a fundraising role you aren’t comfortable with. We’ll Support You Along the Way You won’t be handed a script and expected to figure it out on your own. Group Exercise Volunteers and Class Champions support YMCA instructors in making classes welcoming, energetic, and engaging for all participants. Volunteers assist with greeting and connecting with members, especially those new to class, as well as helping stage or set up equipment, supporting anyone arriving late, and maintaining a clean and safe exercise space. With instructor approval, volunteers may also demonstrate movements, lead routines, or offer one-on-one encouragement during class. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys fitness, motivating others, and creating a sense of belonging. Volunteers are fully supervised by YMCA staff. Because of the structure of this program, this role is reserved for active YMCA members. Volunteers work alongside staff to provide children a safe, nurturing, and fun environment while parents enjoy a well-deserved night out. Volunteers read, play games, do crafts, watch a movie, and spend time with children 12 years old and under while assisting our fantastic Y childcare staff. Parents' Night Out will be every second Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm; volunteers will receive training and assignments at 5 pm. It's a great way to spend a Saturday night! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to share their love of the game with YMCA members and friends. Volunteers will help introduce new players to the basics, organize matches, and create a fun, active environment for all participants. This is a great way to stay active, meet new people, and be part of a sport that’s bringing communities together. Gamble-Nippert YMCA recently opened a new Teen Space, and we’re looking for caring volunteers to spend time with teens in the afternoons. As a Teen Mentor, you’ll build positive connections through conversation, games, and homework help while encouraging participation in programs and modeling healthy choices. You’ll also support staff in creating a safe, welcoming environment. We are specifically looking for volunteers Mondays and Wednesdays from 3pm - 6:30pm. Volunteers must be 18 or older and complete a YMCA application, background check, and brief orientation. This is a great opportunity to make an impact in your community, gain youth mentoring experience, and even earn service hours.
