Do you have a passion for reading the Bible and enjoy sharing your thoughts and insights with others? Volunteers are needed to coordinate the weekly Bible Study group. We are looking for someone who will set up the tables for group, lead each group session, and notify participants of schedule changes. Persons of all denominations are welcome. Do you have a passion for reading and enjoy sharing with others your thoughts and insights about the books you read? Volunteers are needed to coordinate the monthly Y Book Club. We are looking for someone who will lead each group session, coordinate monthly book discussion and notifications. The Book Club Facilitator will lead engaging and thought-provoking book conversations for members of our community. This volunteer will help cultivate a welcoming space for dialogue, learning, and personal connection through literature. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Facility Volunteers assist our YMCA Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. We are looking for volunteers to help with the beautification and maintenance of our facility. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and Y needs which may include sprucing up the lobby and fitness centers, assisting with cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and high touch areas, landscaping activities, and other simple light maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for those wanting to provide positive customer service while lending a helping hand. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Volunteers are needed to help organize card games, greet all members, organize prizes, and make sure all members have a good time! 🦋 Help us keep the YMCA campus blooming—for our members and the butterflies! 🌼 Volunteers assist with planting, watering, weeding, and light garden care based on the season and your interests. Tasks span the entire YMCA grounds, including our beautiful butterfly garden. Group Exercise Volunteers and Class Champions support YMCA instructors in making classes welcoming, energetic, and engaging for all participants. Volunteers assist with greeting and connecting with members, especially those new to class, as well as helping stage or set up equipment, supporting anyone arriving late, and maintaining a clean and safe exercise space. With instructor approval, volunteers may also demonstrate movements, lead routines, or offer one-on-one encouragement during class. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys fitness, motivating others, and creating a sense of belonging. Volunteers are fully supervised by YMCA staff. On Saturday, October 25th, get ready to have a spooktacular time at the Haunted Grove for Highland County YMCA Spooktacular Boo Fest Trunk or Treat! Join us for a hauntingly good DJ, thrilling trivia, monster mash dancing, and lots of delicious candy! The event is from 12pm - 2pm. Volunteers are needed starting at 11am to help with set up. Volunteers are crucial to making this event a smashing time for our community. The event will be fun for everyone, and training will be provided half an hour before the start. Volunteers are needed for: 🎃 Event Fun: Volunteers will help with set-up, clean-up, and the running of fun and games. 👻 Trunk or Treat Car Host: Community members and local businesses are invited to the Y to celebrate with the kiddos. We ask that you decorate your trunk, bring candy, and get ready to pass out treats to our neighborhood children. Please note: Each car needs to have ONE PERSON registered for the event. October Is also "Adopt A Shelter Dog Month" 🐶 so The Humane Society may bring a few furry treats too! You won't want to miss it!
