College Students may fulfill course credits through preapproved volunteer assignments throughout the school year. College students are assigned to the Music Resource Center for a contracted period to fulfill college hours and activity assignments. Activities may vary and will be created to meet the passions and interests of the student and the mission of the MRC and YMCA. Dates and times will be determined on a case-by-case basis. MRC is seeking self-motivated, detail-oriented current college students, current graduate students, or recent college graduates who are interested in the following areas: * Development and Community Engagement * Audio & Studio Production * Communication & Marketing * Music Instruction MRC is open to our members 2-7 PM, Monday-Friday, and 12-6 PM in the summer. On Friday, October 17th from 9 am to 12:00 pm, Cincinnati Rotary will sponsor a Refresh and Renew Day at Music Resource Center. The Music Resource Center is a multifaceted teen center that uses recording and performing arts, as well as life skills mentoring, to create a sense of empowerment and accomplishment in the urban community. They accomplish our mission by utilizing music education and performance experiences, both of which create opportunities to teach important life skills, while simultaneously providing a safe alternative for teens in the seventh through twelfth grades. Activities for this service project include landscaping and assisting with a beautification project that will make the center a safe and more inviting place to be. Calling All Musicians & Creatives! Share Your Talent at MRC! Are you an artist? Do you have special talents you’d love to share? Are you passionate about music and eager to inspire the next generation? At the Music Resource Center (MRC), we’re looking for Music Lesson Coaches to mentor and teach young musicians in a fun, welcoming, and creative environment. 🎵 What You'll Do: Teach weekly, 30-minute private lessons (Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums/Percussion, Voice, Rap or other instruments...) Our entire playlist features original music from talented teens (grades 7-12) right here at the Music Resource Center. How Can You Get Involved? Radio volunteers bring the station to life by helping with: 🎧Podcast production – Editing and recording exciting content 🎧On-air content creation – Music segments, interviews & more 🎧Hosting shows – Helping teens develop their radio voice Time Commitment & Schedule: Volunteers typically help 1+ days a week for 2-4 hours (flexible schedule!) ✨ Why Volunteer? If you’ve got skills in music production or audio engineering, we need YOU at the Music Resource Center! As a Studio & Music Production Volunteer, you'll help our students unleash their creativity through: * Songwriting magic * Beat-making brilliance * Intro to recording software (GarageBand & Logic Pro) * Live sound wizardry * Multitrack recording mastery Join us in making music dreams a reality—and maybe even lay down a track or two yourself! 🎤✨ Volunteers donate their time one day a week for at least 2-4 hours, and schedules may vary depending on the volunteer availability and student interest. Our students come from various different walks of life and have different musical interests, goals, and skill levels. Volunteers excel at MRC by meeting each individual where he or she is and being open to creating a fun and educational learning experience for teens that makes them want to come back.
