Volunteers will assist the Adaptive Swim Instructors during their classes. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sharing their passion for aquatics. Seeking volunteers to help with safety around the water by providing an extra sets of arms and eyes in the pool as new swimmers learn the basics. Volunteers also help set up and clean up equipment/pool deck as needed. Volunteers are fully trained and supervised by Adaptive Swim Instructors at all times and provide assistance as needed. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of swimming with other members and friends. This position is perfect if you like people, love the water and want to help others reach their goals of physical fitness. Volunteer hours are flexible and available 5 days a week. Join us at the Y for Go Local, Crossroads Church Day of Service on Saturday, May 17th, 9am - 1pm. Join us for a Camp Clean-Up Day and come together to restore and refresh our Camp outdoor spaces! This is a fantastic opportunity to give back, enjoy the fresh air, and help maintain a welcoming environment for all who visit. Volunteer Tasks: ✅ Raking & General Clean-Up – Clear leaves, branches, and debris to keep the campgrounds looking great. ✅ Garbage Pick-Up – Ensure the space is clean and safe by collecting litter throughout the camp. ✅ Scraping & Repainting Picnic Tables – Give well-loved picnic tables a fresh new look with a coat of paint. ✅ Spreading Mulch (If Available) – Improve pathways and landscaping by adding fresh mulch. Volunteers will assist the Group EX instructors and trainers during their exercise classes. Volunteers may assist with welcoming the participants, staging equipment, as well as the sanitation and clean up of the exercise space. Volunteers will participate in the classes and may shadow the instructor as they lead the class. They may, if approved by the instructor, assist individual members and demonstrate positions or actions when needed. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Facility Volunteers assist our YMCA Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. We are looking for volunteers to help with the beautification and maintenance of our facility. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and Y needs which may include sprucing up the lobby and fitness centers, assisting with cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and high touch areas, landscaping activities, and other simple light maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for those wanting to provide positive customer service while lending a helping hand. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Volunteer are needed to help organize and maintain the landscape, flower gardens and basic beautification projects at ME Lyons YMCA. Tasks include maintaining mulch, flowers, garden stones, yard art, plants and watering the garden. You don't have to be a Master Gardener... just someone with a willing spirit who is ok to roll up your sleeves and get a little dirty. Volunteers read, play games, do crafts, watch a movie, and spend time with children 12 years old and under while assisting our fantastic Y childcare staff. Parents' Night Out will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m.; volunteers will receive training and assignments at 5:30 pm. It's a great way to spend a Friday night! Do you love soccer? Want to help kids, ages 3-12, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our fall soccer program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of soccer, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from April 1-May 25. There are two different types of teams to coach: Teams 1-12 will practice and play on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. They will practice for 30 minutes and then play their game for 30 minutes that same day. Teams 13-26 will play TWO times a week: They will practice one hour on a weeknight and play their games on a Saturday. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. If you received an invitation to coach and have spoken to Alex Kuhn, Sports Director, scroll down to HOLD A POSITION and select SOCCER COACH - ASSIGNED BY Y STAFF and click the blue volunteer button to register. 2. The Anderson Barracudas are one of the four competitive swim teams in the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. Volunteers assist the team in a variety of capacities at swim meets throughout the season and with special projects and ongoing activities throughout the year. WHILE THE TEAM WILL CONTINUE TO USE TEAM UNIFY for meet sign ups, ANYONE who plans to volunteer at the YMCA must also create a volunteer account in VolunteerMatters, the Y's online volunteer portal. By creating this account, all volunteers are able to complete the Y's Volunteer Relationship Agreement & Waiver of Liability and acknowledge the Child Protection Policy & Child Abuse Reporting Procedures.
