Join the M.E. Lyons YMCA Fourth of July Parade Crew! Get ready for one of the BIGGEST and most fun celebrations of the summer! The M.E. Lyons YMCA is hitting the streets for the Fourth of July Parade, and we want YOU, your family, and your patriotic spirit to join us! ❤️🤍💙 Help us decorate the bus, wave to the crowd, spread Y spirit, and celebrate our amazing community together. Volunteers will assist the Adaptive Swim Instructors during their classes. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sharing their passion for aquatics. Seeking volunteers to help with safety around the water by providing an extra sets of arms and eyes in the pool as new swimmers learn the basics. Volunteers also help set up and clean up equipment/pool deck as needed. Volunteers are fully trained and supervised by Adaptive Swim Instructors at all times and provide assistance as needed. The Y is looking for volunteers who would like to share their joy of swimming with other members and friends. This position is perfect if you like people, love the water and want to help others reach their goals of physical fitness. Ever dream about being in the final four? Dreams need to start somewhere! Share your passion about basketball with players, ages 4-12, this summer! We have many volunteer opportunities for our summer basketball program. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of basketball, good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games. The season will run from June 1 - July 25. There are two different types of teams to coach: Teams 1-2 will play one day a week. They will practice for 30 minutes and then play their game for 30 minutes that same day. Teams 3-12 will play TWO times a week: They will practice for 45 minute on a weeknight and play their games on another day. HOW TO REGISTER: 1. Group Exercise Volunteers and Class Champions support YMCA instructors in making classes welcoming, energetic, and engaging for all participants. Volunteers assist with greeting and connecting with members, especially those new to class, as well as helping stage or set up equipment, supporting anyone arriving late, and maintaining a clean and safe exercise space. With instructor approval, volunteers may also demonstrate movements, lead routines, or offer one-on-one encouragement during class. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys fitness, motivating others, and creating a sense of belonging. Volunteers are fully supervised by YMCA staff. Because of the structure of this program, this role is reserved for active YMCA members. Facility Volunteers assist our YMCA Member Experience Staff in making our YMCA the most welcoming place. We are looking for volunteers to help with the beautification and maintenance of our facility. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks depending on personal interest and Y needs which may include sprucing up the lobby and fitness centers, assisting with cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and high touch areas, landscaping activities, and other simple light maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for those wanting to provide positive customer service while lending a helping hand. It is also designed for community service hour seekers to fulfill school or non-legal requirements. HOW TO REGISTER: A. Tasks include maintaining mulch, flowers, garden stones, yard art, plants and watering the garden. Do you love soccer? Want to help kids, ages 3-8, learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our fall soccer program. The Anderson Barracudas are one of the four competitive swim teams in the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. Volunteers assist the team in a variety of capacities at swim meets throughout the season and with special projects and ongoing activities throughout the year. WHILE THE TEAM WILL CONTINUE TO USE TEAM UNIFY for meet sign ups, ANYONE who plans to volunteer at the YMCA must also create a volunteer account in VolunteerMatters, the Y's online volunteer portal. By creating this account, all volunteers are able to complete the Y's Volunteer Relationship Agreement & Waiver of Liability and acknowledge the Child Protection Policy & Child Abuse Reporting Procedures. Thank you in advance for helping the Y to create a safe and welcoming environment for swimmers, volunteers, and staff. Make a splash while making a difference! Join us for the World’s Largest Swim Lesson and Pool Event on Thursday, June 25 from 1 to 4 pm! Help us create an unforgettable day of water safety, family fun, and community connection! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the excitement! We are recruiting for two types of activities. 🎉 Pool Deck Activity Volunteers: Great for those who want to stay dry, love fun, music, and community energy. Perfect for volunteers who enjoy engaging with families and keeping the excitement going all day long! Help bring the pool deck to life by: * Leading games and family-friendly activities * Assisting with food and refreshment stations * Welcoming participants and cheering on swimmers * Helping with setup, decorations, and cleanup * Creating a fun and positive atmosphere for everyone 🏊 In-the-Water Swim Lesson Volunteers (Swim lessons will take place the last 15 minutes of each hour.) This role is ideal for volunteers who are comfortable in the water, enjoy working with children, and want to help promote water safety in a meaningful way.
